To apply for help searching for housing with the DESY Housing Service, you will need to submit an application form.

Please be advised that before you submit a Housing Application Form, you must adhere to the rules of the Housing Service application procedure. By submitting an application form, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined below. If you do not follow these terms and conditions, the DESY Housing Service may refuse to provide further assistance.

DESY Housing Service Terms and Conditions

1. The DESY Housing Service is available for persons who come to DESY for work and stay longer than four weeks and persons who are relocating to Hamburg in order to work at DESY.
   
   
2. Any user of the DESY Housing Service (henceforth referred to as the ‘guest’) unable to keep an appointment to view a room/apartment/house must cancel it him/herself.
   
   
3. After viewing a room/apartment/house guests must inform the DESY Housing Service of the result of his/her visit immediately.
   
   
4. Before moving into accommodation, guests must sign a lease contract and hand a copy to the DESY Housing Service.
   
   
5. All guests must take out liability insurance before moving into a private room/apartment/house (available at the International Office).
   
   
6. All guests must register at the nearest registration office (Kundenzentrum or Bürgeramt) if he/she plans to live in Germany for three months or longer.
   
   
7. All guests must pay their rent in full when away on holiday or business.
   
   
8. Any guest who finds housing him/herself (i.e. without the help of DESY Housing) must inform the DESY Housing Service immediately.
   
   
9. If guests would like to transfer their room/apartment/house to a friend or group member, they must inform the DESY Housing Service.
   
   
10. If you have found somewhere you would like to move into, please contact us immediately to let us know which room/apartment/house you have chosen.
    
    
11. The DESY Housing Service declines to handle incomplete Housing Application Forms.
    
    
12. You have taken note of the data privacy policy. You agree that your data will be collected, stored and passed on to third parties electronically for processing your request.
