International Office

The International Office is the central office and first contact point at DESY for foreign guests and their families. Our office is located in building 6 on the first floor, together with the housing and hostel offices.

The International Office is happy to assist you with all non-academic matters and give you support in all non-academic questions as there are:

German Law regarding foreigners living and working in Germany, (applications for residence permits, visa extensions, registration etc.)
medical and liability insurances
invitations for DESY guests and employees, and for families where applicable
admission at schools, kindergartens and possibilities of daycare in Hamburg, as well as other family-related services
calculation of living allowances for guest scientists
German language courses
