Before you come to DESY, please check the entry regulations for Germany. This information can be found on the website of the Federal Foreign Office (see the link below). Please note that nationals of some countries can stay up to 90 days visa-free in Germany, but must apply for an entry visa for a longer stay. In case of employment, we advise to apply for a visa in the home country, even for the nationals who are allowed to entry Germany visa-free. In some cases it is important to apply for a specific type of visa, as it may have an impact on the type of residence permit you can get later.
